"Negrense Carlo Ledesma 32, son of Gerry Ledesma and Ramona Coscolluela, won the Best Film Award and a 10,000 - euro prize from the Mini-Movie International Channel at the Short Film Corner of the 2007 Cannes Film Festival for his film "The Haircut".

The film, which tells the story of a barber who is confronted by a bald customer's request for a haircut, was directed by Ledesma who is based in Sydney, Australia. It was produced by Mel Lozano."

OMG!!!!! CARLO LEDESMA IS ONE OF MY HIGH SCHOOL CRUSHES! Candy Mag, Seventeen, Game Plan and Probe days pa lang i super duper admired him already. Super good move that he left for Australia to study film. Oh how i wish I can do that too. The film is funny, but keeps that spark of absurdity that i love. Kudos to Carlo Ledesma. I still crush you!

By the way, i heard he's 32 yrs old now. Geeez, i do have a thing for 32 year olds. Hahaha

I can feel it coming.

It’s Saturday once again, and im here at home, typing away my school miseries. My whole family is checking in at Manila Hotel tonight because it’s Couple’s for Christ Anniversary tomorrow, and they want to be there early so they booked two rooms to accommodate everyone. Goodbye Ylang- Ylang Buffet, cold cuts, cheese, wine, centralized aircon and bubble bath. Oh geez im so envious. Funny how everything in that hotel smells like Ilang-Ilang, but not Chanel No.5. My high school barkada is having the monthly inuman tonight and im also not going, because I have homework to do. Sounds so college and proper and mature, isn’t it? Riiighhhttt.

For the weekend I have to finish the ff:

1. Philo Paper about the Nexus exhibit

2. Read the first article on the Philo handouts

3. OpMan HW: answer all problems in Chap1. Read chapters 1,2,5. Read Malou's notes. START DOING THE 1ST PARTIAL PAPER!

4. Macro- Read chapters 1-3. Read Bianx's notes

5. Marketing- Read chapters 1-5 for Saturday. Review Rhea's notes. START DOING PASS 1 PAPER

It’s only been two weeks and I already have a lot to do, with the Marketing and OpMan passes due the first week of July. Gaddemit thinking about it makes me stressed. OpMan with Mike Tan is information overload every meeting as he crammed 5 chapters in only 3 meetings. Talk about fast teaching. The class is really fun because he’s quite informal in dealing with us, talking to us like adults, asking us to wear corporate attire every Thursday, but I’m worried about the departmental tests ‘cause he’s not going to do it apparently. So I’m back to MSP learning OpMan the Michelle Reyes way which is just the best. Marketing is really interesting and all, and makes me really think if I’d minor Marketing and work with marketing and sales stuff or pursue Law. I'd minor Marketing if I get a grade higher than B+ for Mkt 101 & 102. Im seriously thinking of what to do with my life after college- work or take up Law or study abroad and earn an MBA in some important sounding degree. Sabi nga ni Arlene, “bakit ang aga ko raw kasing tumanda.” I don’t know the answer. I really don’t know.

From the missed inuman parties with my friends, I compensate with org activities. The upcoming recruitment week for the Rowing Team will surely make me busy, interviews for MECO, AJMA and AMA will also take up most of my time. I'm planning to go all out active in all of my orgs this year to make myself an asset to the BOA orgs and for future resume use. Speaking of the rowing team, we had a team building session Yesterday courtesy of team mates slash Strains people Lorenz and Miguel. We super had fun doing all those modules at the Xanland roofdeck and hanging aroung Peabo's pad. Just visit my Multiply for the pictures.

A Call for Maturity

Guys, I know na the student body is pissed, and that some stayed up at 12 (which was kinda dumb kasi given na 8am naman ang start talaga). But sana magkakonting consideration for the MIS team and the Registrar's office.

I am currently having the same problem as the rest of you, since the stringent attendance policies of Regcom didn't allow me to have early reg. It's frustrating, I know, I'm frustrated as well, but we have to at least take it with a grain of salt.

Everyone clamors for online reg, and MIS takes years to develop a program. Then when we TESTRUN it, and this is a keyword, testrun, everyone makes a big deal about how everything is so slow. I can't speak on behalf of the teams involved, but I know better than most the troubles that these offices go through, and there is NO way, that online registration will one day become a reality without test runs on ACTUAL registration, such as these.

I find it immature and un-Atenean that they have a blog about this. We are seniors, and we should be the mature ones here. I know that sanggu probably isn't really the place for me to bitch about it, since mostly mature naman tayo and a lot of us, especially the SBCA are making the steps to ease everyone's pain. Like the senior som executive said, mahirap din to sympathize too much with the MIS team, pero it's unfair to them as well to blame them for these problems fully. These are growing pains, which are NECESSARY in order to improve the system. It's something that the seniors have to understand, especially because it's more likely na hindi pa rin maperfect ang online reg by the time we graduate.

I'm not asking everyone to not be frustrated, because it can't be helped. However, let's all be a bit understanding sana. As Ateneans, we shouldn't be too eager to be have everything on a silver platter. Sana lang we could be mature about this. I know some feel the need to rant, but I think organizing an entire blog with a chatroom where everyone is cursing is perhaps a bit too much? Wala lang. Just to repeat, I'm just as frustrated as the rest of you guys, but let's take it with a grain of salt na lang and see this as what it is: AN EXPERIMENTAL SYSTEM THAT WAS CREATED IN ORDER TO MAKE IMPROVEMENTS DOWN THE LINE.

Hello world, updates:

I went to school earlier to get a free elective advisement from the Economics department. So aside from Marketing, Opman, MacroEco. Philo101 and Theo131, I'll have Law11! Whoooppeeeehhh Im so excited although I've heard it requires a LOT of readings. I really want to try it and see if I really want to pursue Law. Im really thinking of studying in the States, probably after a couple of years after college. Yale University is really my dream school but I dont think my family can handle it financially. But still, I'll never know what the future holds.

I accepted the teaching job for 8days that will earn me 1600php. Good enough for one hour of reviewing English to four students daily. Hahaha it sucks. Anyhoo im planning to buy some rubber shoes but Im not yet sure if i'll get a pair of spikes or just some classic Keds. Mother agreed to cover for whatever's kulang. Shemers i need to shop for new clothes before May 28, because from that day until June 9, I'll be really busy. Fucking busy i want to fake an illness.

Anyhoo, the GSK female contact is ruining my RegCom marketing work because her phone is dead. And i dont know any of the company's conact number because i was assured that I will get the deal. Mr. Marc i need you to leave Malaysia now! Wokei Desperate.

So my friends (Tins, Pepa, Faith, Patrick, Gelo and Topher) and I watched Shrek3 in Gateway last Saturday and the movie is so fabulously hilarious. Snow White, Ginger Bread Man, Donkey, Cat and Arthur rocked! "AaaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH". Classic. Dinner at Taco Bell because the boys didnt want to try Butter Diner. Boo. I really hate it when people are afraid to try out different things. Tweeners come on, we have the right to be unstable and impulsive! Anyhow i did manage to make them agree to go to Marikina Shoe Expo because it's one of the best places in the Metro to experience contemporary Filipino art. Check out pictures from my Multiply.

So anyways, Maiti i dont really think i can join the Quezon trip. But Quezon or No Quezon we must have a back to school party ha!

I havent slept since last night because I finished MSP's article for MEco! Whooopeeeeehhhh!!! And something great happened at around 12:39 am: Marc Manalastas from Glaxo Smith-Kline texted and said he was interested in my RegCom proposal. I already sent him the email, but I havent spoken to him yet. Shemers I musn't jinx this deal or else Im doomed. I just love connections (Thanks Michelle)!

Rowing today was fun although it was just 3000 meters for our crew, cause we were tricked by some greedy rower named Encar. Haha joke. Sayang eh we could have brought the participants up to the Guadalupe Bridge, so that's 4000 meters in total. It's not that far once you get used to rowing.

Anyhoo i had an effin great time with car ride back to Katipunan with Mix, Jeff, and Dan the Man: with us teasing Jeff on his not-so-hidden-desire for Didi; having to laugh about the team's gayness in general; green jokes and Dan's type of girl. It was so hard thinking of a batchmate who's smart (Dan prefers someone studying in Ateneo), pretty, sexy, kinda flat chested, blessed with a huge ass, and nice. Para kasing walang great package akong kilala na ganun. Hahaha. Gaddemmit they make me laugh so hard. Can't wait for liquor ban to be lifted so we can have a team bonding inuman session!!! Crash Peabo's condo! Yey!

So I'm just waiting for Dad to get home so i could get some money from him cause I'll be meeting Arcel, Arlene and Camyl later at Starbuck's. Bonding time, aylaaaaaveeet. Hahaha

Ohmygaaaaaddd I can't think of anything to write about MSP's article for MEco. *PANICPANICPANIC* It's due tomorrow and all I have is three sentences. I actually have a lot to say but that little spark of inspiration hasn't come yet. Sheeeeettters. I have to finish this by tonight or else I wont row tomorrow or I cant go with Arcelli, Arlene and Camyl for some bonding time. I have to finish this cause Michelle will kill me and ruin my fantasies about you-know-who. I have to finish this!!!!

Crap it's still technically summer but the rain is ruining my plans for ultimate frisbee. I missed last Wednesday's meeting because it was raining so I assumed it's cancelled but no, at around 5pm I saw those highschool kids playing in the Bellarmine field. I was so jealous. Boo. But i did see my potential crush twice that day. Hahaha. I promise myself that the next time I see him I would definitely get his number for some lame excuse.

"Hey _ _ _ _, can I get your number?" Weh get over it Vero. Hahahaha

I find myself in this stupid predicament called Marketing and Possible Tutoring. My marketing work for RegCom is making me stressed because of inavailability of contacts. Sheesshhhh dapat kasi yung companies hindi iisa yung trunk line para hindi ako nahohold for 15 minutes. Damn Unilever and Sbarro. So yun I havent closed any deal with a bigger company. Next week it's marketing hell week for me. And I'm having second thoughts regarding the review tutorial job offered to me because (1) I'm not a great teacher (2) I have too many obligations and (3) I want to enjoy what's left of this summer vacation. OJTs next year doesnt promise relaxation I am sure.

Gad I need to fix my life.

Summer Rowing Clinic started a bit late today, and despite having Biswind (fyi: the most F*d up boat ever) as my crew's starting boat, it was all fun. The participants we got are all so eager to learn, so unbalanced boats are to be blamed on those damnedcracking wooden boats that are way older than me. I shall upload pictures on Friday cause I've got to take more pictures next meeting. Coolness.

Anyhow I'm really disappointed in Myself cause I haven't done so much marketing work for RegCom. I spent 2 hours psyching myself to dial some company's number and i chickened out in the end. It's so not like MSP where I knew the owner. I honestly get nervous talking to some stranger about some business deal that concerns real money.

Jesus help me release all the butterflies in my stomach tomorrow by 9am sharp. Farts all the way! Wahahaha. Gross.

And you know what I am so preparing myself for some male-bitching soon because of

this Michelle, the owner of MSP asked me to do an article about their tutorial center for some survival kit to be distributed on MECOrSem, which is fine cause I owe MSP big time for giving me two B+s on my (f)Accounting longtests and they're the bestest best and all, but, I have to compare it with my experience with Magis. Hohohohohohoholy shemers. Julia will stab me in the open. Hahaha. I love it and all but I'm kinda scared on what that gay man can do. Too bad MSP is just really way better than Magis.

So my mind is clear now. Must step up on work tomorrow.

Anyhoo i am in dire need of money, 3000pesos to be exact to buy a Lomo Holga or Lomo Fisheye camera. I've visited Ebay and starting bid is around 2000pesos for a 2nd hand *hopefully* still in good condition Lomo. As if i'd get money from my parents or some distant relative. Grrr. This is why I hate not having classes and not getting the daily allowance i deserve. Right. But the problem is I dont really save much during regular school days. Probably because of impusive shopping sprees or weekly trips to Starbucks. So no one's to blame but me. I should really save next sem. Right.

Speaking of school i miss my blockmates and English blockmates for all the bonding and parties that we have. Even if it's just the usual Eastwood rendevous with my block or inuman at Miki and Uana's place, there's so much fun memories about them. Haaay i wish regular sem sets in soon.

Anyhoo, tomorrow will be the start of my so called "busy schedule" wherein I'll be juggling Rowing-Ultimate-Jogging-Review-RegCom and not to mention spending hours watching some television series. Should i start whoopeee-ing?! Haha. It's past 12am and I'm still not ready to teach our eager participants in the summer rowing clinic. Oh God, please wake up Encar and Andrea tomorrow so they could save us from drowning those poor kids. Hehe joke Martin.

Anyhoo can I just say that I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE BLAKE LEWIS' rendition of Bon Jovi's "You Give Love A Bad Name"!! That was by far the best original version I have ever heard from American Idol. That is truly AI history right there.

That sheer talent and riksy creativity will put Blake at least on the Top 3. But I do hope he wins. Other than Melinda Doolittle who is so overrated, no one stands a chance with Blake.

If i believe that Blake is a demigod in the land of True Artists, then Jon Bon Jovi is one hell of a rockstar god! OMG, that man is truly talented and hot. You see, I've already confessed to my friends (particularly Arlene) that I have a not-so-hidden-desire for Jon Bon Jovi. I can't really help myself being fascinated by older men. Hahaha

Okay enough of AI.

I went to school in the afternoon to play ultimate frisbee with Uana, because Andrea and Ross couldn't come today for some reason, so I had to learn again the basics of throwing and catching the disc which I really need. Because apparently, last week's beginner's day wasn't much of a help to make me throw discs like the experienced players do.

(FYI: The word "Frisbee" is actually a brand name of the disc, while "Ultimate" is actually the name of the sport. So it's not right to say "let's play frisbee". Say "let's play ultimate frisbee" or "let's play with a frisbee". Basta. You get it.)

Probably a few more days of practicing some throws would make me better. I'm actually embarassed to see those high school kids play better than me. Envy. Envy. Envy.

And oh, I did find someone cute. But I won't tell it now cause Uana might be reading this. Hahaha

Since I failed to wake up at 430 am to get ready for rowing, I shall spend my futile hours blogging, and watching Prison Break, until i have to go to Ateneo and play Ultimate Frisbee (new sport, i'll make another entry about it soon)

So.

Spiderman 3 is hot.

It was an old battle of good vs. evil, black suit vs. red&blue, revenge vs. friendship, and you know what happens in the end. Same old story but it was tweaked into cinematic goodness with all the movie effects and Hollywood glam. I dont want to spoil the movie for those who havent watched the film but I just have to say that James Franco stole the show. Grar! Although he earned to be the on-screen Peter Parker, Tobey isnt much of a strong actor. He couldn't even carry that emotional scene on the bridge with Kirsten or show enough of his struggle within himself.. He's probably better doing stunts or acting goofy. James Franco on the other hand radiate invincibility and vulnerability at the same time with his underplayed but striking acting skills. And how could i forget, hotness? I could have strangled Kirsten if I was on that set as she kissed him. Boo. Spoiler. Hahaha.

Speaking of Kirsten Dunst, i just envy that woman. At age 25, she has
(1) played the role of Mary Jane Watson in the SpiderMan series
(2) played lead roles in "Bring It On", "Crazy/Beautiful", "Mona Lisa Smile" and "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind". Man this girl gets good breaks.
(3) earns an average of $8 million per big film
(4) will play the great music icon Blondie (Deborah Harry), in the band's biopic by Michel Gondry (directed "Eternal Sunshine..." and "The Science of Sleep!")
(5) could definitely carry a tune. "Dream of Me" from the movie "Get Over It" is one of my all time favorites
(6) directed by my favorite director Sofia Coppola, TWICE! "Marie Antoinette" is a fresh take on doing conventional bio films. The famous "The Virgin Suicides" is on top of my must-see-films-before-summer-ends-list.
(8) kissed Brad Pitt(!) when she was 11 years old in "An Interview With A Vampire"- included in the must-see-list
and lastly
(9) kissed, made out, kissed, had sex (on screen with fade-out), kissed and kissed Orlando Bloom in my favorite movie "Elizabethtown"

Gaaaaaaaaadddd!!! I am such a fan. Borderline Personality Disorder rising. Haha

Maybe something's wrong with her. Can't think of anything. I shall snoop on the gossip sites all over the Internet and hope to find some interesting tidbit about her. Hahaha. Fan.

Finally after months of making this account today's the first time that i customized this journal to start this damn blog. Haha i didn't want to post until I can have a decent layout. But it's still below average compared to others; so calling all techie friends: help me change my background!

I wont bother introducing myself to the whole livejournal community, cause as far as i know nobody would care. And besides im just too lazy to do that and this account is strictly for friends only. Well this one isnt cause it's the first entry. And i have to inform everyone i know who's into livejournal that yeppers I'm alive! hahaha. Baduy.

Anyhoo latest news:

I went to Baguio last Friday to accompany my Mom and Paul (youngest brother) to the 10th International Kids Village. It's a Kids for Christ Event, so we went there with some people from the community. It was a fun-filled 3 days but it wasnt my thing, and i didnt want to babysit the kids so i went gallivanting around the city alone. So Friday night i checked out the infamous SM Baguio, which was nothing special except that it wasnt shaped like a box and they don't have airconditioning (since it is in Baguio. weh). The weather wasn't that cold, it was just like the same temperature in Tagaytay, so you wouldnt want to bring wool or leather jackets when you go up to Baguio this summer. Then went walking around Session Road where lots of shops are open for the people who are still hanging out on the streets at night. Disturbing lang when i saw groups of people in hip-hop wear complete with bling blings. Bleh. I'd rather stay with the goth/ emo/ rocker dudes who were hiding in the dark. So anyway, i ate in Zola Cafe where their 4-Cheese Pizza and Tunnel Cake are famous for. Everything's cheap in Baguio (P114 for the pizza for two and P45 for the tunnel cake) so good thing i dont live there cause i would probably blow up into a huge ass balloon. I didnt stay out long that Friday, so gallivanting continued the next day.

Saturday was fun cause i began touring at 8am. Spent a couple of hours in the Ukay-Ukay shops, Baguio Cathedral, Grotto, and Saint Louis University where i met up with my cousin Jill as we headed for their house. Had lunch there then went back to my solo tour as i visited Mines View and Wright Park. Bought a knitted black jacket for 200pesos (cool yet cheap) and paid a manong Igorot for some pictures. Check out my Multiply for pictures. Around 6pm i met up with my cousin's friends Pats and EJ and we went to the Forest House to try their unlimited coffee and iced tea for 44pesos. Sarap super. Then we went back to Session Road and ate dinner at Pizza Volante where their salads and pizza made my stomach very very happy. Hahahaha. Everyone.must.eat.there. Hep enough of food talk.
I met my cousin's boyfriend, Jian, the most emo person i've ever met , and i liked him. Then we met Jill and her friends at 18BC, a bar that features a boring rock band. We left the place at around 2am, then spent some bonding time at a Caltex Station until 330am. I super had fun with them, and makes me think that if i went to study in Baguio, they would have been my barkada. And i'd probably be emo, a chain smoker and have tried out illegal drugs. Dont get me wrong. They aren't juvenile delinquents, they're far from that. It's just how teens in Baguio are. Yown.

Sunday was very tiring like a rat race because we had to buy pasalubongs for my Mom's friends (sorry guys i dont have anything for you).

Anyhoo the Baguio trip was short and sweet. It wouldve been better if I spent a longer time there and really enjoyed the place. Haaay i miss those summers we spent in Baguio as a family. I cant wait for the next trip.
